Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) is looking for a tenured Aarhus University researcher who will head a group of fellows working within a broad theme of “Science Diplomacy” for a period of ten months. We envision that you are already carrying out research aligned with the theme and that you, for the duration of the fellowship, will continue this work as well as coordinating and facilitating the work of the theme group.
With the AIAS Science Diplomacy Theme Group fellowship, AIAS aims to advance the research-based focus and knowledge of the interdisciplinary relatedness of science diplomacy as an impactful factor across research fields. Examining case studies of science diplomacy efforts, such as global health initiatives or international space exploration, may offer valuable lessons for addressing future crises. In addition, it is increasingly important to assess how current and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and quantum computing can be both a tool for diplomatic engagement and a source of competition. The AIAS-SD Theme Group Fellowship intends to help advance the knowledge and importance of science diplomacy as a relevant theme for all academic fields at Aarhus University and internationally.
This call is open to researchers at associate professor or professor-level at Aarhus University who are interested in developing the theme of Science Diplomacy at Aarhus University. Applicants must be able to allocate ample time to manage and lead the group for the duration of the theme group fellowship as well as continue individual research on the topic.
