Interdisciplinary
Creativity at
Sandbjerg Estate

Once a year, in October, AIAS Fellows, Associate fellows and staff go on a two-day retreat to Sandbjerg Estate, dating back from the 16th century and situated in Southern Denmark, close to the Danish-German border.

The programme involves both training and research management skills through creative and interdisciplinary practices. Fellows are invited to take actively part in developing the programme.

The purposes of this off-site retreat are to:

  • Dedicate time for conversations and dialogue across research disciplines and methods
  • Focus on urgent research and societal topics that are of concern for the fellows
  • Develop new skills e.g. within research management and interdisciplinary thinking practices
  • Explore parts of Denmark that fellows have not yet seen

The estate is owned by Aarhus University Research Foundation (AUFF)
