Every year in the introduction week when new fellows and associates start at AIAS, fellows present their research in short 3-minute speed talks.
Catherine Williams, AIAS Associate Fellow from the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences at Aarhus University is a veterinary surgeon and comparative physiologist. In parallel, she makes drawn recordings of scientific research and other topics (https://catherinewilliams.weebly.com/), including of research talks by colleagues and AIAS fellows, to help with her own concentration and as a record.
"I took art in parallel with the sciences from school onwards. Graphical thinking and physical drawing are both classically included in anatomy and physiology, where I currently teach, and something I find enjoyable and useful in experiencing and summarising events, including research presentations," Catherine Williams explains.
