Three cross-faculties collaborative theme groups selected to AIAS

The Interdisciplinary Taskforce at Aarhus University together with AIAS have selected three new 3-2-1-Go! Collaborative Theme Groups. The cross-faculties theme groups will start on 1 August for a two-year period.

The aim of the 3-2-1-Go! Collaborative Theme Groups is to bring researchers together in interdisciplinary groups formed across at least two faculties, three departments or centers at Aarhus University to foster novel ideas and research collaborations around one shared theme.

Three new collaborative theme groups have been selected to join AIAS over the next two years. One group, ‘Designing endogeneity’, seeks to reframe endogeneity as a theoretical feature to be incorporated into research design; whereas the ‘Planetary Health Pathways’ group will address the challenges that human disruption of Earth's natural systems poses; and the ‘Reframing Resilience in Times of Crisis’ group will investigate existential resilience in times when fundamental assumptions about life, identity and the future are disrupted.

From August 2026 to August 2028, the following three theme groups will convene at AIAS:

The groups will have group office facilities at AIAS available for their meetings, are provided with a website and offered administrative support to seminars or workshops related to their themes.

Currently six 3-2-1 theme groups are hosted at AIAS, and have succeeded in attracting funding, are co-authoring scientific papers and organizing interdisciplinary workshops, and importantly exchanging and developing novel ideas, perspectives and research questions across their diverse research disciplines.
