AIAS is a member of UBIAS, a global network for University-Based Institutes for Advanced Study. UBIAS comprises 47 member institutes (http://www.ubias.net/network-participants) from all continents.
The worldwide network was established to enable structured forms of exchange, including biennial conferences and joint programmes between partner institutes to foster cross-continental exchanges of best-practices and on research topics of cross-continental concern.
From 2016-2018 AIAS was elected as Coordinating Institute of UBIAS – a three-year period where AIAS took on the responsibility to consolidate the network in forming the statutes of the network. From 2016-2020, AIAS was appointed a member of the UBIAS Steering Committee. Currently, AIAS works within the Young Researchers committee of UBIAS.
