NordIAS

NordIAS is a network of eight Institutes for Advanced Study in the Nordic region: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The aim of the NordIAS network is to increase collaboration and exchanges among the institutes, our fellows and staff.

It was established in 2023, following the successful completion of a series of workshops entitled Beyond Advanced Studies, organized by the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS), the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS) and the Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS) and held between November 2021 and May 2022. The workshops were funded by a grant from the Joint Committee for Nordic Research Councils in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NOS-HS).

Opportunities in NordIAS

The NordIAS Visiting Fellowship Programme offers all fellows at the eight member institutes the possibility to apply for a one to three week visit at one of the other institutes. Applicants must have an active fellowship at one of the eight institutes at the time of the desired visit. The programme is intended to enhance the academic dialogue and network both for the fellows participating and for the institutes at large.
