Short bio

Oleg Yarosh is a Head of the Oriental Philosophy Department at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. His research aims at empirical and theoretical contribution to the study of institutional development and charismatization process in the Western Sufi communities that informs religious conversions and collective identities building.

He has published extensively in Ukraine and abroad on Islam and Sufism in Central-Eastern Europe. Oleg is an honorary research associate at Asia Center in the School of Global Studies, University of Sussex, UK.
