This is the first day of a series of stakeholder engagement events, resulting in a policy brief for local and national policy makers. The events will focus on urban loneliness interventions as we aim to move the discussion from gathering more evidence to understand loneliness to what we can do about it.
Our series of events builds on work at the European Union level, where a recent event on loneliness policies highlighted the need for targeted, long-term and low-threshold approaches to meet the needs of different target groups, including young people.
The first day of our series of events, hosted at AIAS (Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies), brings together experts working on loneliness, loneliness interventions and evaluation of interventions. Our workshop environment will foster a dynamic, generous and generative exchange of ideas, focusing on the sharing of both successful and failed interventions, and providing space to develop new intervention and evaluation ideas.
The workshop will be guided by Dr. Nina Goldman and Prof. Pamela Qualter from the University of Manchester. They will circulate a summary report to be shared with all participants a couple of weeks after the workshop.
Please note that the workshop will be audio recorded to facilitate the writing of the report.
