International panel to visit AIAS

As part of the evaluation of AIAS, an international evaluation panel will visit AIAS and Aarhus University on 12-13 March.

The international panel members are appointed by the Aarhus University Rector Brian Bech Nielsen and will visit Aarhus University and AIAS for two days on 12-13 March 2018 as part of the evaluation process. The Institute was inaugurated on 13 June 2013, so AIAS is now close to its 5 years anniversary. 

The international panel members are as follows: 

Dr. Wilhelm Krull, Volkswagen Foundation (chair)
Dr. Wilhelm Krull is Secretary General of the Volkswagen Foundation in Hannover. Alongside his professional work on science policy and the promotion and funding of re-search, Dr. Wilhelm Krull has been, and still is, a member of numerous national, foreign and international committees.
Dr. Wilhelm Krull will be chair of the evaluation panel.

Professor Diana Hicks, Georgia Institute of Technology
Diana Hicks is Professor in the School of Public Policy, Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in metrics for science and technology policy. She was the first author on the Leiden Manifesto for research metrics, published in Nature, and she has conducted numerous policy analyses and advised international organizations and governments on national research evaluation systems.

Professor Peter Goddard, Princeton
Peter Goddard served as Director of the Institute of Advanced Studies at Princeton, 2004- 2012, and he is Professor emeritus at the School of Natural Sciences, Princeton. Peter Goddard’s research concerns quantum field theory and string theory.

Professor Michal Linial, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Michal Linial is Director of the Israel Institute of Advanced Studies, Jerusalem, and she is Professor in computational biology.
