Future AIAS Fellow Tomonori Takeuchi awarded with Novo Nordisk Foundation grant of DKK 20 mill
Takeuchi Tomonori has received the Young Investigator Award by the Novo Nordisk Foundation this week. Tomonori will also commence at AIAS this week and the Novo grant will enable him to establish both a research laboratory and a research group at DANDRITE, Aarhus University.
On 1 February this week, Associate Professor Tomonori Takeuchi will begin his AIAS-COFUND Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship at AIAS, in the same week as he has received the Novo Nordisk Foundation's prestigious Young Investigator Award of DKK 20 million.
The Young Investigator Award allows Tomonori and his research team to spend the next seven years researching how the neural structures in the brain organize knowledge. The objective of the research programme is to gain an understanding of the molecular mechanisms of these processes. This research has the potential to identify new targets for treatment of memory loss.

The goal of the Young Investigator Award is to attract some of the world's most talented and promising early career researchers to Denmark. Tomonori Takeuchi comes from the Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, where he has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow since moving there from Japan.
