On Wednesday and Thursday, 22–23 October 2025, the EU project RE4GREEN will host the fourth and final installment of our green energy social lab at the AIAS.
As part of the workshop, we are pleased to host a talk by Kristian Hvidtfelt Nielsen and Bue Juul Poulsgaard on their project Energy Lives!, which examines the intertwined lives of energy and people in the Nordic countries through a historical and sociotechnical lens.
Their talk will take place Wednesday, 22 October, 14:15–15:15 at Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies, Building 1630, Room 301.
The Energy Lives! project examines how Nordic citizens have lived with and shaped energy infrastructures over the past 150 years. It shows that energy transitions are not just technological shifts but deeply ethical questions about justice across generations, fairness in distribution, and the role of citizens as active participants rather than passive consumers. At Aarhus University, we focus on district heating and its deep roots in Nordic societies, exploring how citizen involvement in infrastructural decisions can help build legitimate, democratic, and sustainable energy futures.
