Introduction
The newly established Center for Quantum Optics and Quantum Matter (CQOM) will hold its official launch event on November 8 at the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies.
The Center for Quantum Optics and Quantum Matter brings together 10 experimental and theoretical groups who study diverse quantum phenomena and a range of quantum systems, from macroscopic quantum-membranes, over ultracold atomic gases, to mesoscopic ion crystals and single particles confined in external fields or quantum liquids. The CQOM aims to create a platform for interactions that emphasises common directions and synergies in this field.
The opening day will also feature the first CQOM-Colloquium given by Richard Schmidt (ITAMP, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and Harvard University), and provide an overview over the CQOM activities. Its research directions will be presented and discussed within a poster session and a series of talks by all participating groups. The program of the launch event is available here.
