Director Morten Kyndrup predicts that the story of AU’s new research institute, AIAS, will be a story of heroes and villains, good guys and bad guys, battles, victories and defeats.
The research institute AIAS is AU’s attempt to answer the question of how to achieve excellence in research is achieved in a globalised world, says Rector Lauritz B. Holm-Nielsen.
For the next three years, the American political scientist, Joe Soss, will be affiliated with the research community Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS). He will be working with discriminatory treatment of ethnic Danish children and children from a minority background.

Starting Thursday 13 June, the University Park in Aarhus will offer excellent researchers from all over the world a new space for intellectual freedom and exploration. On this date, Aarhus University will open the doors of the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS), where outstanding Danish and international researchers will be able to devote themselves to their research in an attractive environment. AIAS is the first institute of its kind in Denmark: a bold initiative that will place Aarhus University on the world map of research.
