ABOUT THE FILM

The documentary film SOLUTIONS follows a group of leading researchers, along with experts from business, policy and NGOs, who isolate themselves for 10 days at the renowned Santa Fe Institute in the New Mexico desert with a grand ambition: to develop concrete proposals for solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of our time. The researchers come from widely diverse fields and they attempt to create a new form of scientific conversation across disciplinary boundaries.

SOLUTIONS (111 min. DK/Documentary) is directed by Pernille Rose Grønkjær, Denmark, with support from the Danish Film Institute, the Lundbeck Foundation, Creative Europe and DR TV. It was previously screened at CPH:DOX.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Grønkjær had her breakthrough with 'The Monastery' (2006) that won the Joris Ivens top award at the IDFA Film Festival and 11 other international awards. Since then she has directed documentaries such as 'Love Addict – Stories of Dreams, Obsession and Longing' (2011), 'Genetic Me' (2014), selected for CPH:DOX, 'The Other Side' (2017) about Danish comedian Anders Matthesen and 'Hunting for Hedonia' (2019), which premiered at CPH:DOX. SOLUTIONS is Grønkjær's most recent film.
