Second call for AIAS-COFUND II fellowships successfully closed

With 333 applications from researchers from all over the world, the second call for AIAS-COFUND Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships under EU’s Horizon 2020 has closed. Now an extensive triple peer-review and selection process will follow.

The second call for fellowships in the AIAS fellowship scheme under EU’s Horizon 2020 programme for research entitled ‘AIAS-COFUND II Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships’ has closed on 23 January 2019. Again this year, the number of applications has increased extensively from 232 applications in 2018 to 333 this year. The first screening of applications reveals a global reach with 73 different nationalities represented in the 333 applications. The applications has a constellation of 98 senior researchers and 235 junior researchers - with applicants from all main academic areas.

The final selection of up to 15 new AIAS Fellows will be decided in a long, external triple and international peer-review process, with excellence as the main criterion for selection. This long process will last until June, when the applicants will receive notification. The fellows selected will commence at AIAS in two groups; either on 1 October 2019 or on 1 February 2020.

34 fellows at one time

Currently, AIAS has 34 fellows hosted at the Institute in fellowships stays from one up to three years. Fellows at AIAS come from a broad spectrum of disciplines and are offered unique research conditions, free from other obligations than exactly their core activity: research. Many new fellows have already established research collaborations with departments at Aarhus University prior to their arrival at AIAS, and besides this collaboration, fellows will be situated in a thriving, multidisciplinary and international environment at AIAS.
