AIAS new member of EU Science Diplomacy Alliance
With effect of 23 June 2025, the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) is admitted a member of the European Union Science Diplomacy Alliance that aims at sustaining the dialogue on EU science diplomacy and cultivating new opportunities to progress theory and practice of science diplomacy in Europe.

Science Diplomacy is crucial for fostering cooperation and bridging understanding between institutions, countries and regions. In September 2025 four Science Diplomacy fellows will be joining AIAS in the new Science Diplomacy Fellowship Theme Group to collaborate across disciplines around the topic of science diplomacy.
With AIAS membership in the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance, AIAS and the incoming Science Diplomacy Fellows will join and actively engage in the broader discussions on Science Diplomacy across 50 member institutions based in the European Union, and Global Networking Partners either based outside the EU or with a geographical focus that lies outside.
AIAS is becoming a member along with eight other institutions: the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI), Centre for International Studies (CERI), Sciences Po Paris, and CIHEAM Zaragoza are EU based members of the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance, whereas the International Institute of Science Diplomacy and Sustainability (UCSI-IISDS), Arctic Frontiers, the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), the UK Young Academy, the Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Government (CAIG Birmingham) are global networking partners of the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance.
