AIAS Fellow Rikke Schmidt Kjærgaard is the organisor of the Journal club 'Data visualization and scientific graphics' in collaboration with Ebbe Sloth Andersen from iNano. The Journal club meet once a month, always on the second Thursday in a month.
About the Journal Club
Each time scientific articles related to data visualization and scientific graphics with a focus on biology, molecular biology and nanoscience will be discussed. If you are a researcher interested in discussing articles within these areas, you are welcome to participate. No prior registration is needed. Just show up!
The topic of February Journal Club is handling and making visual sense of large datasets, and how to show volumetric 3D flow data. The articles will be presented by Senior research and innovation scientist Jesper Børlum from The Alexandra Institute.
Readings:
- Article on visualising large volumetric datasets in real-time: http://maverick.inria.fr/Publications/2009/CNLE09/
- Article on visualising the topological skeleton of complex 3D vector fields: http://www.mpi-inf.mpg.de/~weinkauf/publications/abstheisel03c.html
The Journal Club is a joined lunch meeting, so please bring your own lunch. Coffee and tea will be served.
