Aarhus University Seal

AIAS invites all Current, Former and Associate Fellows, Staff, the Board of Directors and other interested collaborators and friends of AIAS to join the annual AIAS Summer Gathering on Thursday 18 June from 15:00 - 21:00 for an inspiring and joyful afternoon and evening together. 

The afternoon starts with short 15-minute talks by AIAS fellows and continues in the Hall with a science photo exhibition and an art installation by the Artist-in-residence at AIAS.

After the academic part, there will be drinks, music and networking in the Hall and outside if the weather permits, followed by an informal dinner provided by a local food truck.

15:00 - 15:10   WELCOME by Andreas Roepstorff, AIAS Director 

15:10 - 16:30  Four INTERDISCIPLINARY TRANSFORMATIONS talks with cross-disciplinary topics of the 2025-2026 academic year: 

  • "Nineteenth-century plastics: from imitation, to innovation, to recreation"

16:30 - 17:00  INTERDISCIPLINARY IMAGES – Interdisciplinary perspectives through visual images: opening of the AIAS science photo exhibition by Andreas Roepstorff, AIAS Director (the AIAS Hall). Short 1-minute speed presentations on the sciences behind the images by each contributor. 

17:00 - 17:30     Drinks, music and networking in the Hall 

17:30 - 22:00     Street food and academic networking (Hall and outside)

All current, former and associate fellows, staff, the AIAS Board of Directors and friends of the house are invited to participate. Feel free to bring a guest or a partner, but please remember to have them sign up as well.
