Abstract

In her laboratory Rikke Louise Meyer looks at how particular biomolecules on the cell surface regulate properties and facilitate biofilm formation. In the building next door Peter Ole Pedersen studies the aesthetic strategies and visual culture of images and motion pictures that document real life events. Watch what happens when these two researcher look at the same images and demonstrate their different approaches to visual material as scientific and cultural testimony in this cross-disciplinary lecture.

Short CV

Peter Ole Pedersen is a PhD-candidate in Art History whose research focuses on contemporary film in an expanded field.

Rikke Louise Meyer is PhD and associate professor at the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center where she runs the Biofilm group.


What is a Fellows' Seminar?

The AIAS Fellows' Seminar is a session of seminars held by the AIAS fellows or by other speakers proposed by the fellows. In each seminar, one fellow will present and discuss his/her current research and research project, closing off with a question and discussion session.
